Online Poker Lobby Targets Mike Gatto

A concerted effort is being made by a group of online poker enthusiasts to lobby California politicians, including Mike “Prince N@sty” Gatto.  At stake are laws governing the prohibition and regulation of online gambling, which can vary from state to state.

I was going to try to look up California’s present laws, but the first article I googled was really long and nuanced and quite frankly, boring as fuck-all.  So if you care to know the subtle shades of gray that exist on the spectrum between “prohibition” and “regulation,” here you go.

Even if I could understand the present laws, I probably wouldn’t know how to feel about them.  Poker is definitely sweet.  But spending all day on a computer is decidedly unsweet.  I think I’ll just have to wait for Mike Gatto to issue an opinion, hastily adopt it as my own, and defend it like a junkyard dog.Screen shot 2014-08-04 at 5.30.15 PM
