Endorsements Piling Up For Mike Gatto’s Hit & Run Law

What’s that traffic jam ahead?  Why it appears to be every civic group, newspaper and politician in the state log-jamming their way towards Mike Gatto’s heroic Assembly Bill 47.  Some paper called “the Daily Pilot” recently ran an editorial endorsing the bill and highlighting its broad support across party lines.

The new “Hit & Run Law” has already been endorsed by the Orange County Deputy Sheriffs, California State Firefighters Association, the Safe Routes to School National Partnership and pretty much every other organization that doesn’t have its head up its ass.

According to the Daily Pilot:  “This common-sense proposal was first introduced in December 2012 by Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Silver Lake), who had taken note of the high numbers of bicyclists and pedestrians — regionally and statewide — who have either been killed or seriously injured by careless drivers who subsequently fled the scene after mowing down their victims.”
