In response to Governor Jerry Brown’s frank assessment of the California budget crisis, in which the Governor said that legislators will have to make serious and painful choices, Mike Gatto urged his fellow State Assembly members to let their conscience, and not special interest groups, guide their voting choices on budgetary matters. Sweet. Mike Gatto’s statement on the matter, along with his devastating charisma and good looks, can be seen here:
Special interest groups prioritize their own agenda above the best interests of everyone involved. In many cases, that does not turn out to be very sweet at all. By contrast, Mike Gatto is truly sweet for taking the opportunity to remind State Assembly members to let their consciences, rather than special interests, guide them at voting time.
(Daulton Gatto is no relation to Mike Gatto. That they share a surname is purely coincidental.)
